Literary Consultancy Fixed Rates (Fiction; from 40,000 words):
In-depth Report: £5.00 per 1,000 words
This is a comprehensive report that covers all aspects of the manuscript in full detail. Often used by authors obtaining their first report.
Includes free assessment of submissions package (synopsis, cover letter, and first 3 chapters).
Typically 14 -18 pages. This is not capped, and I will include all information I consider relevant at each stage.
In-depth Report plus thorough Annotation: £6.50 per 1,000 words
This is a new service, due to popular request, and is suitable for writers who would like the editorial report (as above) to be supported by detailed annotation on the manuscript.
Short Report: £4.50 per 1,000 words
This is a shorter, less detailed report that is often used by authors returning for a second critique on their re-drafts.
Includes free assessment of submissions package (synopsis, cover letter, and first 3 chapters).
Typically 8 - 12 pages. This is not capped, and I will include all information I consider relevant at each stage.
Non-fiction manuscripts are charged at £5.50 per 1,000 words for the In-depth Report, £7.00 per 1,000 words for the In-depth Report plus Annotation and £5.00 per 1,000 words for the Short Report.
Quotes for manuscript editing, mini-reports, and assessment of an opening 3 chapters available on request. Minimum charges applicable. I also undertake research projects and can assist with your research at a fixed daily rate (available on application).
Turn-around times advised at time of enquiry, generally 6-8 weeks from receipt of payment. In a hurry? Please enquire about the fast turn-around service, which will have your report back with you 2-3 weeks from receipt of the manuscript. The cost for this is an additional 25% of the standard reading fee.
