My rates are competitive, and my service tailored to meet your needs. If you email me with an outline of the project in question, I will respond rapidly by email - and always within 48 hours (Monday to Friday).

Literary Consultancy Fixed Rates (Fiction; from 40,000 words):

Report Type A: £5.00 per 1,000 words

This is a comprehensive report that covers all aspects of the manuscript in full detail. Often used by authors obtaining their first report.

Includes free assessment of submissions package (synopsis, cover letter, and first 3 chapters).

Typically 14 -18 pages. This is not capped, and I will include all information I consider relevant at each stage. Annotations on manuscript included if an SAE is provided.

Report Type B: £4.50 per 1,000 words

This is a shorter, slightly less detailed report that is often used by authors returning for a second critique on their re-drafts.

Includes free assessment of submissions package (synopsis, cover letter, and first 3 chapters).

Typically 8 - 12 pages. This is not capped, and I will include all information I consider relevant at each stage. Annotations on manuscript included if an SAE is provided.

Non-fiction manuscripts are charged at £5.50 per 1,000 words for Report Type A, and £5.00 per 1,000 words for Report Type B.

Quotes for manuscript editing, mini-reports, and help on creating your submissions package available on application. Minimum charges applicable. Fast turn-around supplement 25% of reading fee.

I also undertake research projects and can assist with your research at a fixed daily rate (available on application).

Please note: I no longer accept unsolicited submissions for my scouting work outwith my consultancy service. Writers looking to submit their work would initially need to apply for the literary consultancy service.
