Script Consultancy

It can be difficult getting feedback on your script, unless you’re on a writer-development scheme or already under commission. Many theatres just don’t have the resources to give feedback, and the BBC writersroom only gives feedback on a number of the scripts they receive.

If you’re working on either a radio drama, a musical, opera or a stage play, our drama specialists will give you detailed written feedback on your script and advice to help you with:

  • Snappy dialogue

  • A compelling story structure

  • Plot and subplot

  • Characterisation – how to make your characters rounded, convincing and able to surprise

  • Tailoring your work to the right medium and the right theatre

  • How and where to submit your work.

If you'd like to enquire about this service, the first step is to email us a short extract from the work in question, and the word count of the material you'd like considered. We endeavour to answer all queries within one working day (Monday to Friday).

Writing and Pitching Your Radio Play

To introduce our new script consultancy services, we are offering a workshop we hope will appeal to anyone interested in writing radio drama, and a few who hadn't considered it before too!

Writers with full scripts, scripts-in-progress, or who are thinking of beginning a new project are all welcome. An interactive and informative workshop in which participants will learn about the pitching process, the different opportunities open to audio writers, and the skills and techniques needed to write a successful radio play.

A 'listening list' will be provided in advance of the workshop.
