Pitching Your Manuscript Workshop
This event is for writers of a fiction or non-fiction manuscript who are ready to think about how best to sell their work. We will consider pitching both in the sense of verbally selling your work, and making a formal written submission to a publisher or agent.
All participants are encouraged to submit a cover letter and synopsis prior to the event. Written feedback on these will be provided as part of the workshop fee.
This workshop is for anyone who’d like to be able to discuss their manuscript with increased confidence, or learn about the submissions process and how to compose a professional synopsis and cover letter.
What Past Participants Have Said:
"Thank you so much for yesterday's workshop. I came away inspired."
"Very empowering."
"Your workshop gave me lots of ideas for how to re-draft my synopsis and cover letter, and enabled me to really focus on what's important."
About Me
I have read hundreds (probably nudging thousands) of submissions packages, both on behalf of publishers and literary agents, and the writers I advise in my role as literary consultant. As well as being trained to spot the weaknesses in a cover letter or synopsis, when it comes to the submissions process I know both the common gripes of publishers and agents, and the common worries of writers. In this interactive and informative session, I aim to combine the two, leaving participants thinking like a publishing professional and ready to make a confident and effective pitch.
Writing and Pitching Your Radio Play
To introduce our new script consultancy service, we are offering a workshop we hope will appeal to anyone interested in writing radio drama, and a few who hadn't considered it before too! An interactive and informative workshop in which participants will learn about the pitching process, the different opportunities open to audio writers, and the skills and techniques needed to write a successful radio play.
Writers with full scripts, scripts-in-progress, or who are thinking of beginning a new project are all welcome.
A 'listening list' will be provided in advance of the workshop.
