With Playwright and Screenwriter Isabel Wright

The Pleasance Edinburgh (Cabaret Bar), Saturday March 2nd 2019, 1pm-5pm

Learn about the craft and business of writing stage- and screenplays with guest tutor Isabel Wright. Novelists can take the chance to workshop their dialogue skills and bring their writing to life in a new way.

Isabel Wright is a playwright and screenwriter based in Edinburgh. Her stageplays have received productions and performed readings in Scotland and across the rest of the UK, and have received subsequent performances and readings in translation internationally. Her plays include Speedrun (Tron), Blooded (Boilerhouse),  Peepshow (Frantic Assembly), Gilt (7-84), Mr Placebo and 15 Seconds (translation) (Traverse). Recent productions also include Blind Eye for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and The Illicit Dark, for the Stephen Joseph Theatre. Her recent screenwriting work includes being part of team writing for 'Ooglies', an animation for (Kolik Films/CBBC). She worked as a scriptreader and playwriting mentor on numerous occasions.

At this workshop, we’ll be discussing the common issues Isabel encounters as a scriptreader and how to solve them as well as working on practical writing exercises as best suits the needs of the group. There will be plenty of time to ask Isabel any questions about the craft or business of writing for stage or screen.

There are a limited number of student and low-income discounted spaces. Email contact@clairewingfield.co.uk to find out more.
